Few bike shops in this area. I was pleased to walk in and get everything I needed for a last minute entry into the Five Boro Bike Tour.

Yes, I paid a few extra bucks for things I could've ordered online, but again, i had little to no time. Plus I needed to try on shoes, (knowing very well the euro sized biking shoes run small and can be tricky to fit).

They have cycling kits available for men and women, a variety of helmets, variety of pedals, and different shoes. Having options surely helped as most sporting goods stores don't carry anything for cycling!

The owner (lady) negotiated the final price which made it very enticing to buy everything on the spot. I wasn't thrilled about the helmet and upon finding another one somewhere else, she allowed me to return it.

I'd say customer service went a long way here. Having options did as well. Again, a few extra bucks on the price side, but it beats paying for the things I needed expedited.  They also offered to provide tuning and bike fitting, even though I didn't need it.

I just purchased a Trek Roscoe 7 from this bicycle shop and its kickass.  I must say, the owner and the the gentleman behind the counter were both professional and helpful.  I recommend this bike shop to anyone that's looking for a quality bike.  This is the second bike I purchase from this shop and I will continue to shop at CIGI for all my bike needs.  Lastly, my last bike was stolen so if anyone sees someone riding a Trek Shift 4 in the Rego Park area, kick that fucker in the nuts for me.  Just kidding.

 just went to this bike shop for some small tools and items and they were wonderful. Since they have so many people saying negative things I felt the need to chime in as I had a very positive experience, although it was for very small things and minor mechanical work. But...contrary to what other folks are saying they gave me a deal on a tool and a chain to lock my seat (discounted from what the price tag said, and comparable to Amazon and other shops). They installed the seat chain in less than 10 minutes, and they also fixed my friend's brakes in the same brief window of time (also a minor adjustment).

It was not a curmudgeonly old man rather a very nice lady named Adriana and a mechanic named Eduardo. I buy tons of bike stuff on Amazon, and yes it is usually cheaper, but I do like to support the local stores as long as it is not an insane amount higher. Because if we don't we'll only ever have Amazon and I can't take my bike there when I need something fixed!  I'd go back again to CIGI. Perhaps there has been a management change in the last year that has  improved things.
